The person behind the work
About
Emmanuel Obot is a Manchester-based software engineer working across applied AI, backend services and operational platforms.
I'm Emmanuel Obot, a software engineer based in Manchester, UK. I work across applied AI, backend and platform delivery, and full-stack systems.
My strongest language is Java, particularly with Spring Boot. My work also takes me into Python and ERPNext, TypeScript services and interfaces, and Windows software built with C# and .NET. The common thread is software that supports real operational work.
What I work on
At Amela Group / Amela Pharmacy, I'm a Platform Owner. One example is photo-led Product Intake: turning product photographs into editable ERPNext proposals, with deterministic barcode and price lookup and a person responsible for approval.
My wider experience includes Java and GraphQL commerce services, a Teams investigation assistant, production platform operations, and an offline-first Windows point of sale with idempotent synchronisation. Those projects cover different surfaces, from backend services to the tools people use to do their jobs.

Platform Notes
Platform Notes is where I write about the engineering behind that work. The first featured piece follows messy legacy inventory through to an ERPNext intake workflow: what could be recovered, what still needed product identification, and where human review belonged.
